Light spotting or mild bleeding can sometimes occur after completing prescribed medication in early pregnancy, depending on the type of medicine taken and the reason it was prescribed. In many cases, mild spotting may settle on its own and is not always a sign of a serious problem. Some women may also notice mild cramps or brownish discharge for a short period.
However, bleeding during pregnancy should never be ignored completely. We suggest consulting your gynecologist if the spotting becomes heavy, is associated with severe abdominal pain, dizziness, fever, passage of clots, or continues for several days. An ultrasound or medical examination may be needed to confirm that the pregnancy is progressing normally and to rule out any complications.
