A mild to moderate hydrocele that is painless is not always an emergency, and in some cases it can simply be monitored if it is small and not causing discomfort. However, hydroceles usually do not go away permanently with medicines alone in adults. Over time, the swelling may slowly increase in size and start causing heaviness, discomfort while walking, or cosmetic concerns.
Surgery is generally recommended if the hydrocele becomes large, causes discomfort, affects daily activities, or continues to increase in size. A proper examination and ultrasound by a urologist can help decide whether observation or surgery is the better option in your case. If you notice sudden pain, rapid swelling, redness, or fever, you should seek medical attention promptly.
For mild hydrocele..no need of surgery…only tight scrotal support is enough but for moderate Hydocele and large hydrocele..surgery is required
