Mild Nosebleeds After Starting Steroid Nasal Spray
13 hours ago
I recently started a steroid nasal spray for sinus allergy, but now I occasionally notice mild blood while blowing my nose. Could the spray be causing irritation

Mild dryness or irritation can occasionally happen with nasal steroid sprays, especially if the spray is directed toward the middle wall of the nose instead of outward toward the sides. Many patients are never taught the correct spraying technique, which increases irritation.
Usually, adjusting the direction of application and keeping the nose moisturized improves the symptoms significantly. Persistent bleeding, however, should always be discussed with a doctor to ensure the lining is healing properly.
