PRK, also known as photorefractive keratectomy, is a predecessor of LASIK surgery. It involves reshaping the cornea to correct the refractive errors. In PRK surgery, the flap created is removed completely, due to which the surgery is also known as laser-assisted sub-epithelial keratectomy.
