• Pelvic exam – This test is usually performed to identify the areas of pain or the presence of a mass in the fallopian tube or ovary.

In medication treatment, doctors suggest methotrexate.  This medicine is given directly by injection in a single dose. The doctor monitors the level of hCG before and after the procedure. Salpingectomy helps in reducing the risk of cancer of the fallopian tube, peritoneum and ovary. 
• Salpingostomy – This is performed to repair a damaged tube or to remove an ectopic pregnancy. During this procedure, the doctor makes an incision and inserts a laparoscope to visualize the fallopian tube, if the fallopian tube ruptures due to ectopic pregnancy, then a salpingostomy is performed to remove the ruptured fallopian tube. If the fallopian tube is not ruptured, then the vasopressin drug is injected into the tube to minimize the bleeding.
