Clear braces diagnosis and treatment

Clear braces diagnosis and treatment

Generally, the initial diagnosis and treatment period varies for fixed and transparent braces. For clear aligners, the diagnosis relies on a 3D oral scan. The scan helps orthodontists receive a complete digital model of the patient’s jaw and teeth. Along with the scan, the patient may also need other diagnostic and imaging tests like oral exam, dental x-rays, cephalograms, oral photographs, etc., for a complete diagnosis.

Once the 3D scan is done, an expert orthodontist will examine it to draft a treatment plan. Following that, all the aligner trays will be fabricated at once and delivered to you at your home. A care coordinator from Pristyn Care will explain to you how you should use your aligners.

You will be able to track the treatment progress using the Pristyn Care patient app. The app will track your aligner wear time and provide notifications to help you change your aligners in time. An orthodontist will make button attachments on your teeth to help keep the aligner trays in place.

You  have to wear the aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day, even while sleeping, but they can be removed while brushing, eating, etc. You should also clean your aligners everyday and change your trays when it is appropriate for you to do so. Frequently Asked Question

What are the different types of teeth braces treatments provided by Pristyn Care in Bangalore?

Currently Pristyn Care provides transparent braces treatment in Bangalore. Pristyn Care uses advanced scanning and fabrication technology, along with experienced orthodontic expertise to provide flawless dental aligner treatment.

Which age is best for dental braces treatment?

Generally, the age of 10-14 years old is preferred for dental braces treatment as it is the developmental period for the teeth and jaws. However, clear aligners are recommended to people looking for smile correction in 20s and 30s, as it provides teeth alignment aesthetically.

Are transparent braces painful?

There is usually very minimal pain during dental aligner treatment. Most patients experience a little gum sensitivity and discomfort as the teeth move into their proper alignment and position.

Which teeth braces are best for smile correction?

There is no ‘best’ treatment as there are pros and cons to all dental braces options. Your orthodontist will carefully examine your jaw and teeth alignment to determine the right treatment option for you and formulate a treatment plan, based on which your treatment will be carried out.

Is Pristyn Care teeth braces treatment in Bangalore successful?

Yes. Teeth braces are incredibly successful and have a success rate of around 96% for mild to severe types of malocclusions. Pristyn Care provides successful teeth alignment correction using dental aligners.

Are there any risks of transparent braces treatment?

Normally, there are almost no risks for clear aligner treatment. Occasionally, if the aligners are cheap, they can break and delay the treatment. Additionally, if the patient doesn’t wear the aligners or if the aligners are poorly fixed, they can result in distortion of the teeth alignment, root resorption, etc.

Are the effects of teeth braces treatment permanent?

Generally, the alignment correction through dental aligners is long-lasting, as long as the patient wears their aligners properly and maintains good oral hygiene. However, if they do not do so, the teeth can move back to their original position.

What are the different types of teeth braces?

There are primarily four types of dental braces:

  • Metal braces: Metal braces are the most common, traditional, and affordable types of braces. They are fixed to the teeth for the duration of the treatment, and often faster in delivering results than their counterparts like ceramic braces and aligners. The only drawback of the metal braces is that they are aesthetically displeasing and their sharp edges can result in injury to the tissues surrounding them.
  • Ceramic braces: Ceramic braces are fixed braces made of tooth-colored ceramic material so they are more aesthetic than metal braces. They are less noticeable but they are bulkier than metallic braces and take up more space in the mouth. They can also stain if the patient does not follow proper dental hygiene.
  • Lingual braces: Lingual braces are placed on the inner surfaces of the teeth, to provide faster teeth alignment with minimal visibility, even for complex orthodontic cases. However, they cause speech impediments and tongue injury.
  • Clear aligners: Aligners are transparent 3D printed sets of tooth moulds that slowly change the shape and alignment of teeth. They are removable so it is easier to maintain oral hygiene. Since tooth movement is more controlled with aligners they provide more accurate results than braces.

What are the different types of teeth misalignments that can be corrected using transparent braces?

There are many types of teeth alignments that can be corrected using dental braces, such as:

  • Overjet: An overjet is when the anterior teeth on the upper jaw are extended outward and can’t meet the lower anterior teeth horizontally. It can affect the smile, chewing, speaking, biting, and other oral functions.
  • Overbite: In an overbite (also called buck teeth), the upper anterior teeth stick out vertically, covering the lower anterior teeth.
  • Anterior or posterior crossbite: A crossbite occurs when the upper teeth fit inside the lower teeth. Anterior crossbite occurs in the incisors and canines, while posterior crossbite occurs in molars and premolars. It affects both the smile aesthetics and teeth function.
  • Spacing: Spacing or gaps between the teeth can be hereditary or due to tooth migration, early extraction, protrusive teeth, impacted teeth, abnormal tissue attachments to the gums, etc.
  • Overcrowding: Overcrowding occurs if there is a lack of space on the dental arch and the teeth have to compete for space, and can lead to teeth erupting outside the arch, rotated or tilted teeth, difficulty chewing, etc.
  • Open bite: Open bite occurs when the upper and lower teeth can’t touch each other. It is common in people with oral habits like lip or cheek bite, mouth breathing, thumb/pacifier sucking, tongue thrusting, etc.
  • Diastema: Diastema is the gap in the middle of the upper incisors. It is common in children and can resolve naturally, but in adults, it needs braces treatment.
