Itching in private parts is common for both men and women. Most people feel embarrassed to bring up this issue, even to a professional doctor or gynecologist. A female’s genitals and intimate area are more sensitive than men. So, they are more prone to such uncomfortable situations.

Itching around the intimate areas, vagina or the vulva can be very uncomfortable for a woman. There are some diseases that have symptoms such as itching in the intimate areas.

A little irritation or itching is common down there once in a while. But if it exceeds, or becomes utterly uncomfortable, it is not a normal condition. The female should not put the gynecologist’s appointment on hold and immediately seek professional help.

Abnormal vaginal can also be a result of serious medical conditions such as yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, menopause, skin disorders such as eczema or psoriasis, vulva cancer or any Sexually Transmitted Disease.

Diseases such as diabetes, cancer Tuberculosis, steroids, antibiotics, anti-cancer drugs, etc. increase the risk of infection in the vaginal and intimate areas in females.

Although, most commonly, itching or irritation in the intimate areas is due to poor personal hygiene. If the female fails to maintain hygiene and sanitation with such tender parts of her body, she is most likely to get problems or infections there. With all this, if she has a weak immune system, it adds fire to the situation, making it much worse.

Maintain Proper Hygiene

Personal hygiene is very important to keep the vaginal area and private parts healthy. Else, infections may prevail there. Proper sanitation and hygiene prevent harmful bacteria and microbes to grow in the private parts. It is essential to maintain proper hygiene to keep the pH balance of private parts normal.

Take showers each day and do not wash or scrub too hard on the private parts. Excessive douching can also irritate the vaginal area. Do not use scented products around your private parts. Also, make sure to clean or wipe the anal and vaginal area after passing stool or urinating.

Ice pack

Ice packs may help get rid of vaginal irritation. This remedy gives instant relief. In case the female has inflammation or swelling, this would be of great help.

Use a clean cloth to wrap some ice for the ice pack. Place it on your intimate areas for about five to ten minutes and then give a break for ten minutes. Repeat once or twice, if needed. Do not over-do this as it may be harmful.

Garlic

Garlic acts as an excellent natural antibiotic and antimicrobial agent. It helps the body fight against infectious agents. The best way to use it is to eat about 3 cloves of raw garlic each day. Make sure to chew it properly.

Yogurt

Greek Yogurt is also very helpful to soothe the intimate areas. Eating one to two cups of it helps the body fight harmful bacteria.

It can also be directly applied to the vagina. For that, you would require a tampon. Soak the tampon in the yogurt and gently insert it in the vagina. Leave for about 30 minutes and gently wipe your intimate parts. Do not repeat it more than four times a day. Consult your gynecologist if you are allergic to yogurt or dairy-based products.

Coconut Oil

Being rich with antiviral and antifungal properties, coconut oil helps fight foreign infections int the intimate areas. Its nourishing properties can also help get rid of vaginal dryness. Orally consuming about 2 tablespoons of coconut oil each day can help soothe the vaginal areas.

It can also be directly used on the affected areas. A small amount of coconut oil can be applied on the affected areas for about 30 minutes. Gently clean the area with warm water after that.

Apart from the above mentioned natural agents, tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar, boric acid, oregano oil, and Indian lilac have been proved to be of great help to treat and give relief to private parts.

Make sure you stick to just one of the given remedies and not mix any. If you see no positive results with the remedies in two to three days, visit a gynecologist.
