Montair LC features a combination of Levocetirizine and Montelukast. These two salts come together to relieve allergic symptoms. Here’s how this medicine works:
Levocetirizine is an antiallergic medicine, which works by blocking histamine i.e., the chemical messenger responsible for causing sneezing, runny nose and other allergic symptoms. It thereby helps in reducing inflammation and reduces the severity of the symptoms.
Montelukast: Montelukast blocks leukotriene, another chemical messenger which decreases inflammation and helps in relieving symptoms.
Swallow the whole tablet with water.
Do not break or chew the tablet and prefer taking it at night.
Also, make sure you take it as prescribed by your doctor.
Do not consume it more than prescribed limit to manage pain.
Even though Montair LC is quite safe to consume, it can also cause some side effects. The side effects are usually short-lived and go away on their own. Some common side effects of this medicine include:

Diarrhea

Dryness in the mouth
Headache
Skin Rash
Flu-like symptoms
Fatigue
If you’re taking Montair LC, avoid consuming alcohol as it can cause an adverse effect.
While this medicine is safe for pregnant women (if prescribed), it is highly unsafe for breastfeeding women and may cause toxicity to the baby.
We’d also suggest that you avoid driving after taking this medicine as it can decrease your alertness.
Also, people with liver and kidney conditions should be cautious while taking this medicine, and should only take it when prescribed by the doctor.
